In a blog post on the official band web site, band leader Trent Reznor says that someone “somehow managed to film a substantial amount (over 400 GB!) of raw, unedited HD footage from three separate complete shows of our Lights in the Sky tour“, and provides a link to the footage.  Read more  Click below to start Blooming... Print E-mail Submitted by actz    Tuesday, 25 November 2008 Twitter resisted Facebook's overtures, in part because it questioned the valuation attached to Zuckerberg's social-networking site, which was based on the $240 million Microsoft paid for a 1.6 per cent stake in the company last year, when the stock market was riding high and the credit crunch was but a twinkle in Gordon Brown's eye. But, perhaps more significantly, Twitter's founders also felt they had some unfinished business to attend to with the site; that its full potential as a communication platform – and a money-making enterprise – was yet to be realised. Twitter has enjoyed an explosive rate of growth in the last year, with the registered number of users now topping six million, a 600 per cent increase in just 12 months. The application gives BlackBerry users the ability to receive updates and send messages in real time, as well as upload photographs to their profile.Since the application's launch on November 13, users have sent and received more than 15m messages and updated their mood and status over 2m times.  Bloombla links:  I've listened to music on MySpace I've downloaded the MySpace for my BlackBerry Noone has commented yet Comments (0)   94% of UK customers write reviews to help fellow shoppers Print E-mail Submitted by actz    Monday, 24 November 2008 About a year ago ago we conducted the first U.S. study on product reviewers to understand who they are and what motivates them to write reviews. In that study we found that 90% of customers write reviews to ‘help others’. This year we conducted similar research with Keller Fay in the UK. We found – believe it or not – similar results! We conducted a post-review intercept survey across several Bazaarvoice retail clients and found that Brits are driven by altruism when they write product reviews. We surveyed almost 3,800 Brits who wrote reviews on online e-commerce sites, and 94% of them said it was important to write reviews to help other consumers make good purchase decisions. And their altruism doesn’t end with consumers; 82% of those surveyed said they wrote reviews to help companies make better decisions about the products they offer. Also, most UK reviews are positive – 86% of UK reviewers said they left positive feedback online, and 11% said their comments were equally split between positive and negative. This reflects what we continue to find in the ratings J-Curve, which we discovered in 2006. The partnership promises to add over “one million new songs into MySpace Music’s growing indie catalogue.” The IODA roster includes thousands of labels, including Arts & Crafts, Ace Records, Bonnier Amigo, Cherry Red Records, Cooking Vinyl, Demon Music Group, Fat Cat Records, Kanine Records, Light in the Attic, Paper Bag Records, Naïve, Premium Latin Music, Relapse, Rounder Records and Six Degrees. The partnership is pretty significant since there remain very few other large established music distributors that MySpace lacks a partnership with at this point. Click below to start Blooming...   I've had a MySpace account I've signed a record deal The last comment was by: ygjvwdah Comments (5)   Bloombla new social network is connecting the world Print E-mail Submitted by actz    Friday, 03 October 2008 Who can say Bloombla ...Say it, Bloombla ok now that's out of the way what's the big deal?  Well Bloombla has become a bit of a buzz word traveling around the web for the past week.  Its a new social network that aims to connect the entire world together.  This is quite exciting and gives us all a feeling that social networks still have a bit of life left.I'll give you all a quick run down of this exciting new service.  Basically its all quite simple, everything you've done in your life is called a Bloom.  Don't worry if you find yourself saying "that's something to bloom" later today, it also got me.  They ask everyone one questions "What have you done?" by answering this in their structured sentence they can start connecting you with other. Each Bloom will then be added to your life and then create another layer where you can view others who have also "Done it!".  This layer reminds me of a wall of sorts for each Bloom where users are able to share their stories, experiences and interact with each other. It seems like they've thought of everything.  You can easily import friend from Facebook and they will automatically be added to your friends list or invite friends to the service.  Your activity feed will give you updates of all your friends blooming activity and stories you've missed. We've contacted Bloombla and if you find this fun they have promised much more exciting things to come. Follow their blog.bloombla.com  “Imagine being able to connect to individuals that you have never met but at some point in their lives they stood in the same room. This is something here at Bloombla we believe to be possible.“ said Anton Ygartua,  co-founder of Bloombla."Bloombla's designed and structured in a way that everything a user enters means something to us. With this information we are able to do many things beyond just connecting people." said Jamie Learmonth, co-founder of Bloombla. "We have a way of categorising all blooms entered into our system and provide an easy way of quickly adding them. In turn this gives us endless possibilities and we believe our timing is perfect."So far they have had some amazing reviews from Mashable "Bloombla is an exceptional new service to try out" and Pocket-LInt "This is brand new and could really catch on... Bloomin' marvelous".Bloombla's API will start its life on GeekNewz from today. We love Blooming and we've decided to open our arms to Bloombla's API.  Every article will now feature a few Blooms related to the article for everyone to click on.Bloombla is a privately funded venture by Boxlight Media Ltd .Click below to start Blooming...   I've joined the website Bloombla  I've registered on Facebook I've read the Bloombla article on GeekNewz Noone has commented yet Comments (0)   Facebook New Homepage Print E-mail Submitted by actz    Tuesday, 30 September 2008 New Facebook Home Page, New Facebook Tagline Means Too Many Marketing Meetings At FacebookFacebook launched more than a new iPhone app this evening - they also have a new home page (the page you see when you aren’t logged in) and a new tagline. Gone is all the descriptive language suggesting you sign up to “Keep up with friends and family,” “Share photos and videos,” “Control privacy online,” and “Reconnect with old classmates.” Now Facebook has a simple message to entice you to sign up: “Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life.”They’ve also removed the language around being a social utility, although I suspect we haven’t heard the last of it. The old tagline was “Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you” and was used by Facebook customer service reps to claim Facebook wasn’t a social network and that people should use it primarily to connect with offline friends:ViewThe last comment was by: goldie hall Comments (2)   Digg Lands $28.7 Million for Social News Site Print E-mail Submitted by actz    Tuesday, 30 September 2008 San Francisco - Social news site Digg announced on Wednesday that it has landed a $28.7 million third round of venture capital financing, led by Highland Capital Partners.Previous backers Greylock Partners, Omidyar Network and SVB Capital also participated.San Francisco-based Digg, which was founded in 2004 and now counts 30 million unique monthly visitors, allows users to share news articles, blog posts and other content on a site that ranks submissions according to their popularity among Digg users. Full ArticleNoone has commented yet Comments (0)   13 Gmail Extensions for Firefox 3 Print E-mail Submitted by actz    Tuesday, 30 September 2008 Gmail turned online email on its ear when it popped up a few years back.
