JED Microprocessors Pty Ltd Designers and manufacturers of industrial and audio/visual controllers in Australia One half of JED's business is Audio/Visual Control Systems for serial RS232 or IR remote control of video projectors, and LCD or Plasma flat panels, along with audio levels, screens and lighting . (Thesemore specialised products grew out of single board computers which were pressed into service controlling projectors at a local university.) The range of A/V devices is expanding, and is now sold world-wide through nearly 200 distributors. Users are educational (University to kindergarten), churches and corporate. Its intent was to design and develop a range of Single Board Computers (SBC) able to be used by scientists and engineers who needed to embed a small computer into their systems. These cards are now based on the Wilke Tiny Tiger and on the Atmel AVR. While it started with only “standard” cards, (as shown on this web site) the majority of our sales in this area are custom products, often based on concepts pioneered on the standard boards but customized, e.g. by adding displays, 802.11 radios or special I/O.
